You'll arrive at our comfortable treatment room and we'll check your blood pressure. You'll self-administer the nasal spray under our supervision. The actual administration takes just a few minutes. Plan to spend about 2 hours total including monitoring time.
After administration, you'll rest in our private treatment space while we monitor you. Many patients describe feeling relaxed or drowsy. You can listen to music, watch TV, or simply rest. We check on you regularly and monitor your vital signs.
After about 2 hours of monitoring, once your provider confirms you're stable, you can go home. You'll need someone to drive you. Most patients return to normal activities the same day or next morning. Initially, you'll come twice a week, then once weekly, then monthly for maintenance.

No. You cannot drive for 24 hours after Spravato treatment. You'll need someone to drive you home from your appointment. Most patients can return to normal activities the same evening or next morning.
No. Spravato is used alongside your existing antidepressant medication, not instead of it. Continue taking your regular medications as prescribed. Your provider may adjust them over time as you improve.
Spravato has potential for misuse and is a controlled substance, which is why it must be administered in a certified medical facility under supervision. You cannot take it home. When used as prescribed in a monitored setting, the risk of addiction is minimal. We carefully screen patients and monitor for any signs of misuse.
